Blog
Because you demanded it... A place for news updates and a chance for @media 2005 delegates (and anyone else for that matter) to chat.
@media 2006
The @media conference returns in 2006 after an incredibly successful conference in 2005.
This time there are more presentations and panels, spread across two tracks, and more speakers, including Eric Meyer, Dan Cederholm, Dave Shea, Andy Clarke, Jon Hicks, Molly Holzschlag, Tantek Çelik, Jeremy Keith, Andy Budd, Roger Johansson, Veelre Pieters, Cameron Moll, Stuart Langridge, Simon Willison, Ian Lloyd, PPK, Patrick Griffiths, Gez Lemon, Patrick Lauke and Robin Christopherson. That’ll do for now, won’t it? More to be announced soon…
To be held at the prestigious QEII conference centre in middle of Westminster, London, this time around @media promises to be an even more lavish affair.

Keeping in Contact
A number of people have requested that some kind of forum be added to the @media 2005 website.
Unfortunately, we’re unable to do this at this time. Sorry!
As some have already done though, please feel free to leave comments on this blog and to exchange contact details.

Presentation Links
Another frequent request has been for a list of links to presentations. Well, at the time of writing, I can’t find links to all of them just yet, but here’s a list of presentations with links to their slides if they’re available, and the list will be updated if and when speakers put their presentations online.
Day One
- Jeffrey Zeldman – The Greatest Story Never Told
- Joe Clark – Accessibility: Simple Facts About a Tricky Subject
- Robin Christopherson and Curt Holst – Web Accessibility and Disability – A Practical Introduction [PowerPoint file]
- Douglas Bowman – The Beauty of CSS [PDF file]
- Patrick Griffiths – XHTML & CSS: A Web Standards Approach
- Andy Budd – Making the Jump to Tableless Design
- Ian Lloyd – Accessibility Building Blocks
Day Two
- Douglas Bowman – Tactical Manoeuvres [PDF file]
- Jeremy Keith – The Behaviour Layer: Using JavaScript for good, not evil
- Molly E. Holzschlag – Web Standards Workflow
- Joe Clark – Zoom the Web
- Derek Featherstone – Testing for Accessibility: Techniques, Perspectives and The Future
- Andy Clarke – Anatomy of a Mouse [Zip file]
Keep in mind that these are aids to the presentations, so they won’t necessarily make sense by themselves!

The @media Blog
At the very end of the conference, one of the requests that was being made was for a central way for delegates to keep in contact, to exchange ideas, and to generally continue the experience of @media 2005.
Although it wasn’t planned, we have taken this idea and come up with the @media blog. It has been somewhat hastily put together, so if there are any little problems, please let us know and bear with us.
We will be using this as the place for all of the latest news, about @media 2005 and forthcoming events such as meet-ups and @media 2006.
Oh, and it’s not just for those who went to @media 2005 by the way – if you want to join in, please feel free to do so!
